Video Analysis Tool CLIPr Adds Livestream Functionality

Video analysis tool CLIPr, which launched in 2020, helps organizations and events to enhance their video content by enabling them to make videos searchable and customizable so that audiences can glean more value — and organizers, in turn, can collect more data and analytics about topics that viewers find interesting.

CLIPr this week announced that it has added a new livestream feature to its platform that leverages Vonage’s Video API. Until now, CLIPr’s machine learning algorithm was only able to analyze recorded video content, but this new functionality will enable the platform to index live content as well, providing even more use cases for the tool.

The livestream feature is compatible with any hosting platform that an organizer is using, including virtual event platforms, using an RTMP feed. CLIPr can then index live meetings and events in real time, and attendees can leave timestamped reactions to the content being streamed.

After a livestream, the video content is stored and analyzed in the same way as pre-recorded videos and is turned into searchable and shareable clips. CLIPr also shares metrics like total video engagement and most popular topics with organizers, as well as general clip sharing trends and audience reactions. Event platform Grip is the first platform to integrate CLIPr’s new livestream function.

“Our livestream capability is critical to providing a meaningful way for users to consume, search for, and share the specific video moments that matter most to them and can serve as an engagement bridge to enriched video libraries without the need to separately record and ingest video,” said Humphrey Chen, CEO of CLIPr, in a statement.

He continued, “With the world relying on video now more than ever before, CLIPr combats ‘video fatigue’ and supports the shifting preference for consuming long-form video content by making it more snackable. We’re very excited that Vonage & Grip are the first to leverage CLIPr’s livestreaming capabilities.”
