MeetingPlay + Aventri, Cvent Continue Event Tech Acquisitions

The event tech space continues to evolve as in-person events return in full force and providers aim to consolidate as many offerings as possible under one roof to provide planners will full end-to-end event management features. Acquisitions continued this week, with both MeetingPlay +Aventri and Cvent adding companies to their portfolios.

Event tech providers MeetingPlay and Aventri officially merged at the beginning of the year to become MeetingPlay + Aventri (MPAV), and the newly formed company has now acquired event registration platform eventcore to further enhance its capabilities.

eventcore’s strength lies in providing custom event registration services for more complex events in need of tailored solutions, so this acquisition bolsters MPAV’s bespoke event services and allows the company to better serve this part of the market, particularly Tier 1 events and trade shows, which the company reaffirms its commitment to.

Meanwhile, Cvent is continuing to build out its robust event tech ecosystem and has acquired UK-based VenueDirectory, which has curated an extensive repository of information on venues in the UK. Cvent recently expanded its Supplier Network with the launch of the Cvent Vendor Marketplace to assist planners in more easily finding and connecting with vendors, including venues, for their events.

The company notes that VenueDirectory will continue to operate as a standalone business unit, with Cvent providing “additional support and resources” to help VenueDirectory “connect more venues with corporate event planners across Europe.”
