ASM Global Launches New Globalized Venue Management Training Program

As post-pandemic labor shortages continue to plague the live event and entertainment sector, ASM Global has launched a new multilingual venue management training platform, ASM Global Academy. The program is aimed at “elevating upskilled team members and reimagining the guest experience,” according to the company.

ASM Global Academy consists of over 1,800 self-paced courses, available in multiple languages, which will help team members enhance their knowledge and skills around creating excellent guest experiences and will further support their career development. Course topics will include guest services, DEI, food safety, leadership, sustainability, and safety.

As many hospitality and event organizations are struggling to fill jobs, this type of training program is an essential offering, not only as a way to provide value to current employees but also potentially to attract more talent from outside the industry.

“This program continues to reinforce our complete commitment to bringing forward-thinking technologies in every aspect of what we do for our clients,” said ASM Global President and CEO Ron Bension in a statement. “It furthers our team prep, breadth of knowledge and tools to bring measurable value and delivery of remarkable guest journeys.”

In order to make the courses as engaging as possible, ASM Global Academy leverages tools such as gamification, badges, quizzes, and leaderboards. In addition, many of the trainings were created in-house by ASM Global’s training department and are tailored to the company. The launch of the program on a company-wide and global scale will help bolster ASM Global’s uniform, standardized approach to employee training and guest experience.

Shauna Elvin, ASM Global’s executive vice president of global human resources, added, “This program is being rolled out in the United States, APAC, the U.K., Europe, Latin America and the Middle East; and we believe ASM team members will be even more energized, satisfied and equipped to deliver the best guest experience possible and advance their career interests.”
