Stageverse Platform Launches Immersive Muse Concert Experience

As the virtual concert and fan experience space heats up, Stageverse, a new platform that hosts 3D virtual venues, has teamed up with Grammy award-winning artist Muse to offer yet another way for fans to experience music in the metaverse through an immersive recording of the band’s 2019 Simulation Theory tour.

Stageverse opened yesterday for beta access, and the “Muse: Enter The Simulation” concert is available on both mobile and VR via iOS, Android, and Oculus. The virtual experience features a 2-hour-long, uncut recording of their performance from Madrid's Metropolitano Stadium and includes 360-degree views along with 3D visual effects.

“Simulation Theory has always been about creating experiences that redefine the human role in programming and technology,” Muse frontman and co-founder Matt Bellamy said in a statement. “We can’t wait for our fans to be able to truly immerse themselves in our Simulation Theory world and take full advantage of everything that the Stageverse experience will offer.”

For a limited time, the show is available for free, and it will run weekly on the platform. Fans are able to attend and chat with friends and other fans from around the world in avatar form and have their choice of 16 different viewpoints from which to watch the show. In addition, they can access to exclusive virtual outfits from Muse and luxury fashion house Balmain Paris.

Founded in 2017, Stageverse has raised a total of $7.5 million in funding to date. Investors include Alan Breed, President of Edgewood Capital; Matt Virtue CEO of Rival; Tom Murphy, Co-Founder of Crestview Partners; Bill Harrison, former CEO & Chairman of JP Morgan; and Joubin Mirzadegan, Operating Partner at Kleiner Perkins.

“We're focused on creating a place where your digital identity and culture can live and thrive, and that starts with a high fidelity, premium, and accessible experience,” said Stageverse Co-Founder and CEO Tim Ricker in a statement.

He continued: “As a result, we are attracting forward-thinking partners such as Muse, Balmain, and Shantell Martin, who are looking to provide an elevated metaverse experience to their communities. By rolling out our NFT economy and marketplace next, we will unlock community capitalism to the fullest extent. When a customer becomes a participant through ownership of their digital identity and goods, they are motivated to invest and create value for themselves and in turn the entire community.”
