SeatlabNFT Launches University Tour Featuring Clean Bandit

UK-based NFT ticketing company SeatlabNFT has been working to redefine event ticketing and prove the value of leveraging NFTs for this purpose. The company recently partnered with Lost Village Festival to provide an exclusive immersive experience for NFT holders, and it has just launched a new university tour, Seatlab Sounds, across the UK featuring headliners Clean Bandit, Hardy Caprio, R3WIRE, LF System, Shane Codd and Karen Harding.

The tour kicked off in Edinburgh last week and includes six more dates in the next couple weeks. One  of the main goals of the events is to demonstrate the capabilities of NFT technology to “the next generation of event-goers,” according to the company.

In order to do so, each event on the tour will include unique NFT collectibles for fans. Fans will be able to set up their wallet and purchase NFT tickets via the Seatlab app, and they will also be able to enter a lottery to win free tickets to shows.

NFTs have yet to overtake traditional ticketing, but the case studies are compelling — NFT tickets promise more transparency and price control, particularly in the secondary market, as well as the ability for artists and organizers to continue to collect royalties from resales. In addition, rewarding fans with digital collectibles and real-world experiences tied to their NFTs adds to the experience and is slowly working to gain buy-in from fans on NFT ticketing for events.

"We've operated in live events for over a decade and have seen first-hand the problems that exist in the industry,” said SeatlabNFT CEO Ryan Kenny. “We know there's a huge amount of dissatisfaction from fans on all sides about how event ticketing currently works, and this is a great opportunity for us to show people that it's possible to have an event ticketing platform that actually enhances the event experience, rather than being just another money maker."
