New Metaverse Platform Hyperverse Live Launches With Interactive Concert and NFT Drop

Update 3/31/22 - It has come to our attention that Hyperverse's launch event featuring Jacquees may not have taken place. The company is now using a new website but includes no mention of Jacquees. We're investigating further and will update this post if and when we find out more.

Hyperverse, a new digital platform that allows artists to stream virtual concerts and sell NFTs directly to fans, is carving out its corner of the metaverse, beginning with a launch event on December 15th titled Jacquees: King of the Metaverse. The event will an immersive digital performance by R&B artist Jacquees along with an exclusive NFT drop.

Hyperverse was founded by Sebastian Ambrose and Dylan Thomas, and they describe their vision for the platform as a place for “musicians to stream metaverse concerts, sell NFTs, tokenize their careers, and design digital merchandise.” Like other metaverse platforms, Hyperverse aims to help artists monetize and take more control over their own work while enabling them to directly connect and engage with fans.

The event is aimed at both music fans and crypto enthusiasts, with the goal of showcasing the value of NFTs and the metaverse to Jacquees’s fans and also introducing the crypto community to Jacquees’s music.

The concert will take place in five different digital worlds — zombies, galactic, cyber punk, sports, and pixel (holographic) — each with their own distinct look and feel based on imagery from the NFT and crypto spaces. Each concert will feature an avatar of Jacquees designed to match the specific world, and the experience will also include games that will give fans a chance to win more NFTs or exclusive content from Jacquees.

The worlds can be unlocked with the purchase of NFT tickets, which, once purchased, will immediately grant fans access to the concert they have chosen and enable them to watch it on repeat. Essentially, “the ticket is the concert,” according to a release. Fans will be able to hold onto it as a collectible or sell it to another fan. The Jacquees: King of the Metaverse will also allow owners of the NFTs to accrue royalty rights from the world they purchased.

In the future, Hyperverse’s founders note that they plan to expand to the physical world as well, as their website notes that they have “exciting plans for future projects connecting fans at live concerts with Hyperverse concert fans to create a first-of-its-kind hybrid experience.

Fans will be able to purchase tickets to the experience on Hyperverse’s website (not to be confused with fellow metaverse platform HyperVerse) when it launches on December 15th.
