Decentraland Music Festival Returns With OxArena and The Voice Metaverse Experiences

Virtual world Decentraland’s second annual Metaverse Music Festival kicks off today, set in “an otherworldly cyberpunk landscape being reclaimed by nature,” and complete with 15 uniquely designed stages and new interactive experiences for fans.

Being unveiled at the festival is the new OxArena, a unique virtual venue designed and launched by Unpaired, the company behind the Party Degenerates NFT collection. The venue includes an open-air stage, three indoor clubs, a concept store for virtual merch, an outdoor NFT gallery, a congress room and two private lounges.

Throughout the four-day festival, the OxArena stage will feature performances by artists including Gramatik, Yokoo, Arapu and PlastikFunk, and more. The customizable venue will then remain open and will host other Party Degenerates and partner events and programming.

“OxArena is a unique venue that aims to foster meaningful connections combined with the thrill of the IRL experience, as we collectively experience music and digital art through innovative technologies that expand the imagination,” said Unpaired CEO Raluca Cherciu. “The venue's architectural fluidity provides a socio-spatial manifestation that entails the conjoining of forces and will serve as a platform for already established and emerging artists, web3 communities and projects to connect with their audience or expand their reach.”

Also debuting during the Decentraland Music Festival is a new metaverse experience from popular TV show The Voice, dubbed The Voice VIP Superverse. The experience was created by the Virtual Brand Group, which recently announced a partnership with ITV Studios to bring The Voice to the metaverse.

The Voice experience launching at the festival includes a Decentraland exclusive musical game overseen by four new metaverse coaches. Fans will be able to participate in a Blind Audition, collecting notes to the beat of a song to get a chair to turn. Winners will be awarded NFT merchandise each day. In addition, they will be able to stop by the Voice set and take selfies with the spinning red chair as well as the current judges on the show, Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, Camila Cabello, and John Legend.

“The Voice is the biggest TV format in the world,” said Justin W. Hochberg, CEO of the Virtual Brand Group, “so creating its first metaverse experience with the biggest metaverse music festival is the logical first step in creating a totally new way for fans to connect to the brand, music, and each other.”

The Decentraland festival is now live and is free for anyone to attend.
