Danny Wimmer Presents to Host First-Ever Festival Livestream

Festival livestreams are quickly becoming the norm in a post-pandemic world, as events like Firefly festival and Electric Daisy Carnival recently streamed on Mandolin and Roblox, respectively. Festival producer and promoter Danny Wimmer Presents (DWP) will be streaming a festival, Welcome To Rockville, for the first time ever. Welcome To Rockville is DWP’s last festival of the year and will be taking place in Florida starting on Thursday.

Fans will be able to watch livestreams of certain performances at the festival, in addition to exclusive interviews and behind the scenes content, directly on DWP’s Twitch channel, which it has been using since its June launch to stream original content and host a battle of the bands competition in advance of the festival.

Welcome To Rockville will include a physical Twitch Stage on the festival campgrounds, which will feature performances by fan favorite bands that participated in the competition over the past few months.

“Twitch has provided us with a unique platform to not only have unprecedented daily engagement with our fans but to also discover and interact with the bands of the future,” said Danny Hayes, CEO of Danny Wimmer Presents, in a statement. “The new Twitch Stage is going to give us the opportunity to showcase some of the amazing new artists we have found on the platform.”

The livestream will be hosted by the hosts of the popular That Space Zebra Show, Bobby Schubenski, Terry Beez, Josh Balz and producer Jake Miller. DWP will be announcing next year’s Welcome To Rockville headliners first on the livestream every day, and fans tuning in virtually will also have the opportunity to purchase festival merch and win tickets to some of DWP’s 2022 events.

“Twitch is the leader in live, interactive entertainment, and the DWP/Space Zebra team built a channel from the ground-up that engages the rock community through music, humor, and fandom,” added Brian Rucker, Head of Music Content at Twitch. “We can’t wait to see Welcome To Rockville come to life through Twitch.”
