Cvent Partners With ID.me For Health & Safety Screenings at Events

With Omicron quickly spreading in the US, the events industry is facing a new wave of uncertainty, making testing and vaccination more important than ever to ensure attendee and staff safety at in-person gatherings. Event tech companies are continuing to adapt to planner needs with a new set of health and safety features.

Last month, Aventri launched a health screening tool through a partnership with CLEAR Health Pass. Now, Cvent has announced a new partnership with another identity security company, ID.me, to power its new Cvent Health Check offering.

Cvent Health Check will allow planners to easily verify the health, testing, and vaccine status of attendees upon check-in at events in the US. It’s only a matter of time until these types of tools become the norm among event tech offerings, especially as vaccine mandates are becoming more universal among large in-person events.

“As health and safety remain top priorities for event planners and attendees alike, reliable and secure solutions like health or vaccine verifications are critical,” said Cvent CMO Patrick Smith in a statement. “We’re pleased to combine ID.me’s proven technology and strong commitment to user data privacy with our event marketing and management platform to enable a more customer- and safety-centered approach for in-person event experiences.”

Using Cvent Health Check, organizers will be able to customize the requirements and parameters for each of their events around vaccination and testing status. Attendees’ health status will be verified using ID.me’s secure process, and they will then be able to easily display a digital image on their mobile device at check-in to prove their compliance. ID.me keeps all user health information secure and does not share data with Cvent or event organizers.

“Our partnership with Cvent is enabling meeting organizers and hosts to simplify health checks and vaccination verification processes while meeting the highest levels of security and data privacy,” said Mark Lockwood, General Manager of Commercial Sector of ID.me, in a statement. “As the industry works to return to normal, we believe our partnership will bring greater confidence to attendees, encourage higher in-person attendance, and reduce the stress and burden on event hosts.”
